Forever 40?

Forever 40? Recently at London Fashion week there was a fabulous show based around tailoring top fashion designs for us forever 40s. Highly excited that they had thought about length of shirt, arms and cleavage I was disappointed to hear it was an experiment and none such high fashion could be found on the high street for sale. Why is it that so much of high street fashion and golf wear forgets that sadly not all of us are in our twenties and want to show off our thighs in a bandana  or the tops of our arms that have begun to get those bingo wings!  At 50 I certainly want to feel feminine and fit for purpose and still on trend with fashion on or off the golf course but definitely don’t want to show off my lumpy tops of legs and my saggy knees! Swing Out Sister home label is  aimed particularly at the forever 40 market and  is keen to correct this so its spring summer collection seems to have looked at the high street and the golf world and tried to combine them for all ages.   It has taken edges like ruffles or geometric pattern from high fashion but added a 3/4 sleeve or a skort and a short that hits the knee and extends our leg . Added to that it has great fabrics, not to clingy but highly technical and those added details like a ball marker or zip pocket to make it work when we are out on the course. So the message is don’t despair, I can still wear a skort, feel feminine and fashionable and remain confident on or off the course. If you havent seen it yet, take a look!
